Pals, Peratallada and Besalú are small medieval towns located in the province of Girona (Besalú near the city of Girona, Pals and Peratallada on the Costa Brava), where it is easy to travel back in time to the Middle Ages.
Small architectural gems from the Romanesque and Catalan Gothic (10th-14th century) can be found in these small towns that are surrounded by magic, tradition and authenticity. Following several reconstructions throughout history, they now offer tourist, cultural, historical, gastronomic and artisanal attractions. Besalú also has an important Jewish legacy from where you can visit one of the oldest mikvehs in Europe.
The visit to the medieval towns can be made in one day and can be combined with a visit to certain places on the Costa Brava, the Dalí Museum in Figueres or Girona city.
