ARIADNE'S THREAD
According to Greek mythology, Ariadne, princess of Crete, felt madly in love with Theseus when he arrived at the island to fight the Minotaur who was in a labyrinth. No one had ever gotten out of it alive before, so Ariadne would offer Theseus a ball of thread to undo during his way through the maze until he found the Minotaur. Thanks to the thread, Theseus was able to find his way out again after killing the Minotaur. In return, Theseus would have promised Ariadne eternal love.
